Pryor Mountian Wild Mustangs

It has come to my attention that the BLM is going to cut the Pryor Mountain herd in half starting August 30th. You can read up on the Problems that the herd is facing at The Pryor Mountain Wild Mustang center and click on Links or News. You can click HERE and view a statement from the cloud foundation. I realize that their numbers have outgrown the habitat and they will starve without being weeded out. But there must be another way to help them without destroying them in the process. After witnessing their wild beauty yesterday, the thought of them being Killed to reduce the numbers makes my soul hurt.
Just look at their faces and tell me that they HAVE to die.
i don't believe it.
I never will.
Use the links and contacts to write and try to save these beautiful wild horses.
Keep in mind that some of the faces you see here will not "be" anymore by the end of August.

The road up is a beautiful as the Horses...
I couldn't decide but whittled it down to a couple hundredish.
I love it up there.
The horses
The scenery
just everything..

The horse flies were incredible. They would make the horses scream as they bit them.
They were even biting me on the top of my head. But not after I sprayed my head with bug spray. They really hurt when they bite.... OUCH!!

This little guy was attacked by something a little over a month ago, A gal I know photographed him when he was still all bloody. It's good to see he is doing well and gaining weight even though it's still looks awful.

A couple of very pregnant mares
I wish I could have stayed and watch them give birth. That would have been so cool.

The whole herd shifted from a small pond about 5 miles away to the top of the range. They all came running, the ones with the babies and babies to come where the last in the line.

A dirt bath to help get rid of the horrible biting flies

Teamwork

Oh Mom... Help me get the flies away......
